How SMS Works

SMS, short for "Short Message Service" and also known as "text messaging", allows you to send messages directly to the member, contact, or event registrant's mobile device.

How It Works

Zenbership uses a service known as "email to SMS" which is provided by most major cell phone providers. For this reason, the program requires that you collect both the user's cell phone number and cell phone provider.

"Email to SMS" services, as their name implies, relies on your email server. Therefore all text messages sent through Zenbership must go through the email queue.

At this time, the software covers most major North American providers. We are actively working to expand this list.

Alternate Services

Extensions may be available for 3rd-party SMS services allowing you to bypass the cell phone provider requirement of the standard program. Please visit the extension store for details.
