Volume Pricing
Explanation
Volume pricing allows you to establish pricing "tiers" for a product based on the quantity of that product being ordered.
Creating Volume Tiers
Volume tiers can be created when adding or editing a product:
- Shop > Products
When creating volume tiers, the program requests these items:
- Qty Low
- Qty High
- Discount (%)
The "Qty Low" refers to the lowest quantity of a product that a user would have to add to their cart to get the discount. The "Qty High" refers to the highest quantity of a product that a user can have to add to their cart to receive this discount.
"Qty Low" is inclusive, meaning that it includes the number listed as the low quantity as long as that number isn't included as a "Qty High". See examples below for details.
Important Notes
- No tiers should overlap. If you have overlapping tiers, the program will select the first in the list that matches.
- Creating tiers will not automatically display the discounts on the product page in the cart catalog. If you want users to take note of the tiers, you should add this information to the product's description.
Examples
Qty Low | Qty High | Discount (%) |
---|---|---|
5 | 10 | 10 |
11 | 25 | 15 |
26 | 50 | 20 |
51 | 9999 | 25 |
In this example:
- A user purchasing between 1 and 4 units of the product would receive 0% off.
- A user purchasing between 5 and 10 units of the product would receive 10% off.
- A user purchasing between 11 and 25 units of the product would receive 15% off.
- A user purchasing between 26 and 50 units of the product would receive 20% off.
- A user purchasing more than 51 units of the product would receive 25% off.
